Today was our last day with Mason. We enjoyed every minute of it! Sure will be strange not having the little guy around everyday :) Mason we love you and will miss you so much! Thanks Chad and Marlissa for allowing us to help raise your baby boy. You guys have become a part of our family and we wish you all the luck in the world in your future! We will miss all of you! :)

Lusterville ...
Let's see we are all still breathing! :)
Don is in Georgia and not really enjoying himself. We hate Gordon because there is really nothing to do there. He has 5 more weeks and then he will be home again! YAY!!!
Dakotah is still his teenage self. He spent the week with Stephen and is now home for the few days before we leave on vacation.
Dani is good. A little more electric but good. She went to the barn today and is tired but had a good time.
I am good. I have 3 more days of school then it's finals and on to my vacation. I am ready to not be studying. I am almost done with school. I think I have about 8 classes left after fall and I can graduate!!!
This is my last week having Mason. We sure are going to miss that kid! Today the girls and I taught him to "punch bug" lol It was so cute! He is talking up a storm now. Hard to believe he is almost 2 ... growing up fast!
I am trying to get a job as a substitute for the schools here. I'm not sure about my status yet because I had to send in a couple more things before they looked at my application. The paperwork for them is almost as bad as when Don signed up for the military! :/ I am hoping to get it. I will be taking 5 classes online for my college courses so working will be hard but I don't feel right not working. Yea I know .. I'm weird! :)
Jinx is good. He graduates from his first set of dog obedience courses this weekend. I'm excited for him. He's such a great puppy! :)
Well that's life in Lusterville lately! :)

Vacation change of plans ...
Well, we are no longer going to Indiana on vacation.
The plan is to now go: see Don for 2 days then go to Julie's for a week. Of course Dakotah wants to go to the Hank memorials and Dani wants to go to the zoo. On the way back home we are going to stop and see Don for 4 more days. Then we will be home for a week before we head to Washington, DC. We are going to try and get tickets to the White House for Dakotah, DeShaun, Dani, Winter, and myself. It should be a fun trip! Then after we get back from that it will be time for Don to come home! :) School will be starting for myself and both kids. Life will be back to normal in Lusterville!

Dani & Lightning
Monday, July 12th, Dani was closing up the barn at the stables. She was holding on to the chain with both hands and trying to get the lock on. Lightning hit 3/4 miles away from the barn and traveled through the sand then through the barn then through Dani! She was checked out and seemed to be doing fine on Monday. Her heart and breathing and blood pressures were all normal. Her urine was normal too, guess that is a bad sign if your urine changes color) I don't know! Her shoulders, back, and legs hurt really bad but they said she was good. Tuesday she laid around all day and felt crummy and very tired. Her legs felt like they were on fire but her feet and arms felt like they were stuck in ice. The doctor said that she was fine but that her legs had some muscle damage and that it would take a while to get back to normal. It's now Thursday and she is doing much better. Her legs and back still hurt and she gets tired very quickly but she is alot better! They did tell us that if she had only had one hand on the chain that the lightning would have traveled through her arm then through her heart and out the other arm! If this had happened it would have killed her!!! So thankful that it went through her hands to her shoulders then down her back and out her feet. She did say that her legs caught most of the shock when it happened. She shook for 2 days after it happened. The doctor said that your body runs on electric currents so it was normal for her to shake. She is much better though and we are thankful that her guardian angels were working overtime and keeping their shields around her!

vacation is coming ...
I can't believe that there are 10 days left til the kids and I leave. Dakotah has decided to go with us. His friend is going to take care of Jinx so we don't have to drag him across country with us. We are going to have such a great time! First stop is GA for some time with Don!
I have so much to do in the next week. Appointments, Dani's helping with horse camp everyday, Dakotah's going to Stevo's for the week, finish up 2 college courses and 2 finals, spend time with Mason, and finally pack so we can get on the road. WOW!!! This next week should fly by!
