Long week

It's been a long week so far and it's only Wednesday. I spent the weekend after returning from Julie's sick and then Sunday Dani got sick and Monday Dakotah got sick. The baby returned on Monday with bronchitis so that has been stressful. He cries and whines and just wants me to hold him all day.

Monday I got the yard done, the dogs bathed, and stuff gotten rid of that was waiting to be dropped off. Tuesday I got rid of all kinds of things in my room. My room isn't finished yet but it is a great improvement to what it was. Today I just haven't gotten anything accomplished. I'm going to try and go to the Y and get some swimming done. It's been a month since I've been there because Don came home on leave then we were at Julie's. Soooo we shall see what happens.

The kids are back to homeschooling. Dakotah is trying to volunteer at his school with the football team and also go to the stables with Dani a couple times a week. So busy!

End of vacation....

Well, we made it home safely. We drove my Grandma to my Dad's in GA. We ate at Pizza Hut and the kids enjoyed playing with Grandpa's new little puppy. They tagged along to Tractor Supply and helped Grandpa pick out puppy food. It was great to see him for a little while before hitting the road home. I was sick with a head cold so we didn't stop in Augusta, which was the plan, but came straight home. I was glad that we did because Saturday my cold hit me hard. Not to mention I thought I was taking DayQuil and it turned out to be NyQuil. So guess who slept all day Saturday! This afternoon we finished unpacking and then went to CiCi's for dinner. Tomorrow starts our "real world" lives again. Back to the Y for swimming 3 times a week so that I can hopefully lose one more pants size before Don gets home. The kids are back to school, homeschool but back. They are going to the barn only on Saturdays now because of school and church. I told them every once in a while we will do a weekday barn but not everyday like during the summer. Well, that's it for now.

Alabama vacation 2

We have had so much fun here and are not ready to leave! Sadie Kay is absolutely the most adorable little girl ever! My little sister is almost 5 months pregnant, which is super exciting! I am so excited for her and Paul to have the new little addition to their family. My grandma got to come for our last few days here which has been so nice. Oh and she made a strawberry pie ... oh so yummy!

Yes I decided to be colorful tonight, oh so fun! Well, we are down to just under 5 months til Don comes home. We are beyond ready for him to be here with us again!

I guess that's all for now. I'll write about our trip home in a few days.

Life at Bragg

Well so much has been going on lately.

Dakotah and Dani have started back homeschooling. Dakotah is now in the 9th grade and Dani is now in the 6th. They are both doing good in their courses. It is taking a little work for them to get into the groove. They are so used to spending all day at the barn so getting into a different routine is taking a little time.

I started my classes back. I am taking 4 college classes online. I am still watching Mason, who turns 1 year old next week. I am still watching one of the 2 year olds occasionally and the other one I no longer watch because her mom quit her job and is staying at home.

My friend, Kim, and I have put off going to our line dance lessons for a little while. I have got to get back into a routine of going to the YMCA and swimming at night. I was doing so good then when Don came home I slacked off. I was going in the morning but Mason has been extremely cranky all day when his naps get messed up so I decided to start going back at night and swimming. It will let me keep my sanity a little longer! :D

Donald

Hey you. I'm going to blog almost every day on here for you. I love you!!!

Miss you much and love you more!

Alabama vacation

Well we are now in Alabama visiting Paul, Julie, and our beloved Sadie Kay. It has been a great 2 days. Sadie has been sick with a double ear infection and also pink eye in both eyes so it has been such a tragedy that she has had to stay home from school both days! haha Actually it has been great! The kids and I have had so much fun playing with her. I forgot my camera at home so I can't post pictures as of yet. I will have to steal the ones I take on Julie's camera before I head home and then I will be sure to add them.

We were planning on coming on Thursday but I decided that I needed a vacation away from my life before then. I changed our doctor appointment dates and we hit the road! We drove from 8pm til 230am and stayed overnight in Conyers, GA then we left at 630am and drove the last 3 hours and got here on Tuesday. An extra 3 days at Aunt Julie's sounded great to the kids too!

We are planning on staying until Friday the 28th then we will head back home. We are planning on trying to see my dad for a few on our way to Fort Gordon. We will be stopping by and visiting Kindel and the kids at Fort Gordon on our way home. We are going to stay the night with them then head home on Saturday. Dakotah will go see is best friend, Chris. I will hang out with Kindel and Dani will hang out with her good friends : Anisa, Taja, Karim, & Salim.

Well that is all for now. I will try to keep this updated as life goes along this next week.

pictures

I am unable to add pictures at this moment. I will add more soon, blogspot willing! :D

Another update

Well, it's been a while since I've posted anything. I have been so busy that I just haven't made time to keep this blog updated. We are all doing fine.

Dakotah has been volunteering at the horse stables everyday. It is hard work but he loves it. He goes about 7 in the morning and comes home each night about 6. He jokingly asked if there were child labor laws against him volunteering so many hours! :D I told him I'd pick him up early but of course he wanted to stay the whole day each day. I am so glad that he goes everyday as I think it helps him learn responsibility and keeps him from getting into trouble. He has finally decided to wear jeans that actually fit him again instead of the baggy ones that fall off his waist! I am so happy because I hate that sagging stuff teenagers do nowadays! :D

Dani had a jazz, tap, musical theatre recital. She had so much fun! I will see if I can post some pictures of her on here. I have to figure out how to use it first! :D LOL She is still volunteering at the horse stables. She will go everyday this next week to help out. She will soon begin riding lessons. She also begins today caring for someone's horse as if it were her own. This means that I drive her to the stables twice a day so she can feed and care for the horse. Yes, it's almost as much work for me as her but it is so worth it for my angel to do something she loves. She wants to learn everything she can about horses, in hopes one day her Daddy will allow her to get one. She loves horses and is living her dream life right now. She has informed me that when Daddy retires we will live on a ranch. She will have horses, cows, chickens, and a pet pig! :D She also says we will have a huge garden. I told her she better get a very good job to help pay for all of it.

We have taken a couple months off of school. I homeschool the kids year round so we can take time off when we fell the need and still have our 180 days accounted for. We will begin schooling again once Don returns to Afghanistan from leave. He will be home roughly the last 2 weeks of July. We are so excited. We will be going to the beach for Dani's birthday. I think he is going to take Dakotah paintballing ... they should have fun shooting each other! :D The 4 of us will go play laser tag. I'd rather get laser shot than paintball shot. Yes, I think that the boys would gang up on Dani and I.

Don is doing good, beyond ready to come home to his family. His camp was attacked and 2 soldiers died and 6 were injured. It is a very sad day for some families. I am also beyond ready for Donald to come home.

I am doing good. Just trying to keep up with the kids! In August Dani will be taking riding lessons, dance, and caring for her "borrowed" horse. Dakotah will just be volunteering and doing Civil Air Patrol. I will be in classes again and trying not to get buried under the chaos of our lives. I am still babysitting. I have a 10 month old that I keep all week and 2 two year olds that I keep at various times during the week. The 2 year olds are little girls that remind me so much of Dani when she was little! :D

I do believe that's everything that has been going on. I will try to do better about posting on here.

Love you guys
Stacy Kay

Sisters and Kids oh and Paul too! :D

Dakotah, Dani Kay, Sadie Kay

Easter

The kids and I went to Birmingham over Easter weekend. We had so much fun! Little Sadie Kay is growing up so fast! I can't believe that she will be 3 in a couple months. We are going to visit with them again in May, June, and July! I am so happy... it's been years and years since we've seen them this much! Dani and Dakotah love their cousin and were so happy that she let them hold her.

Let's see what else? This week has been a very relaxing week so far. I took Dani to see the new Hannah Montana movie. It was cute.

My daycare is now down to just Zachariah and Mason... so nice! No more inspections or drama from them! Although I'm not making as much money it is so worth it! Dakotah and Dani love having it just 2 children.

The kids and I have been getting some things accomplished around the house. The outside got cleaned up today and the inside is being worked on. We are going with the theme of "have you used it in the last year? No? Then out it goes!" This has been hardest on Dakotah who keeps saying he might need whatever it is in the future.

Dani is doing good. She is officially starting the 6th grade on Monday. I got her books while we were at Julie's and have to get busy over the weekend to get lessons together. She is still learning piano and is doing quite well. She is very into the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana). I love her liking them because it has sparked her interests into being more motivated in learning guitar, piano, and drums. She is doing remarkably well in all she's into right now. She is also doing jazz, tap, and musical theatre. Her recital is June 6th and she is excited. I'll take alot of pictures!

Dakotah is doing good, regardless of the fact that he's hit depression with Stephen being gone. He helped Stephen and his sister move to Fayetteville yesterday. They are only about 20 minutes away but the fact that he can't just say "I'm going to Stephens" and walk next door is sad for him. The boys did absolutely everything together. Dakotah officially starts the 9th grade on Monday. He will be homeschooled but going through Christian Liberty Academy. They will grade his tests and keep records so that I don't have to. They will ensure he's getting all of his credits so he can graduate.

Don is doing good. He's still in the mountains pushing a button every few minutes! We tease him that he's not really deployed to Afghanistan but that he's actually doing what they did in the series Lost. They pushed a button every 180 minutes or something like that. He misses us, or at least we hope he does! He will be home sometime around August for 2 weeks then will be home for good sometime around Jan/Feb of next year.

I am doing good. I'm only caring for a 7 year old and 8th month old. It is so nice to have some quiet time during the day! I am still going to college. Not all of my credits transferred over from Washington but that is okay..... I will eventually get done, I hope! I'm still working toward my AA in Early Childhood Education.

Not much else has been going on here. We are just patiently, or as patiently as we can, waiting on Don to come home. I will post more goings on in our lives when more happens!

Thanks for reading!!!
