I haven't updated this blog in such a long time! Ok here goes ...
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I cooked and prepped for Tuesday and Wednesday so I didn't have as much to do on Thursday. We had so much food. I made sweet potato casserole, mash potatoes, stuffing, turkey and noodles, lasagna, chicken alfredo(Don's bday request), green beans, corn, and bread. Our friend, Dan, brought a turkey. For desert I made chocolate/peanut butter squares, cherry pie, apple pie, banana pudding, Don's bday cake, brownies, and pumpkin pie. It was fun hanging out with everyone.
Don's birthday was on Thanksgiving this year. Everyone who knows us knows that I love Don's birthday because he is older than me for about 4 months! This year we got him pretty good. It was so much fun! On Wednesday they had a Turkey Bowl at his unit. A Turkey Bowl is where the different companies play football for a trophy. Well Don brought Dakotah with him to the Bowl and Dani and I went and bought him balloons. When we arrived I went and found the LT and he went with Dani to the car. Don was very confused why Dani brought the LT to our car. When they returned someone called all of A Co. together and LT gave Don one of the balloons and Dani gave him the rest. A Co. also sang Happy Birthday to him. :) So great!!! It was fun for the LT to help in the fun because Don is always messing with him. lol
What else? Dakotah is now being homeschooled. He goes next week to take his entrance exam into the local community college. He is going to dual enroll between homeschool and college. He can take science, history, math, and technology courses at the college. So I will just have to do English. It will hopefully work out well. We go in two weeks to register him for his courses. Then he will start in January. He is still going to the stables and volunteering. My kids are so happy out at the barn. :)
Dani is doing great! She is a little jealous that Kotah is being homeschooled but I'm not pulling her out. She still wants us to buy her a horse but has to wait til we have our own land. I keep telling her that we only have a little under 8 years til her Dad retires and then we can get one. In the meantime she is still going to the stables to volunteer and is loving it!
Dani and I got her Christmas tree up and the presents under it. She was so happy to see her tree. The Christmas tree and lights are her favorite part of the season. She has decided that we need to use clear wrapping paper from now on so she can see what her presents are! :)
Don is doing good. He's just going to work and going to work and going to work ... vicious cycle! lol :)
I'm doing good. I went and collected 750 toys for military kids last weekend. It is a wonderful feeling to know I'm helping these kids have a great Christmas before deployment! I go one more time before I have to hand out the toys to families. My college courses are going. I'm ready for Christmas break. What else? Oh I have been working as a substitute. I have been working one or two days a week.
Well that's the update on Lusterville. Til next time ...

Been a While...
WOW it has been a while. Let's see ....
Dakotah's torn hamstring is now almost healed. He is doing a great job in school. I can't be more proud of this kid! He is playing the drums and is hoping to do marching band next year. That's exciting since his high school is #2 in the state of NC.
Dani is doing good. She is well just being Dani! She did great in her horse show last month. She really loves her horses!!! She had a small issue with her depression a couple weeks ago but I think we have it back under control. I can't believe how grown up she is becoming. Kinda sad but great at the same time! She is going to Myrtle Beach this weekend with the youth from church. They are leaving Friday and coming back Saturday so it will be a short but fun trip!
Don is good. He is ready for a vacation! Work takes alot out of him sometimes. The whole getting up at 430 and not coming home til 6 or 7 is kind of a killer on the body and mind. He has been playing games with his friends at our house on Saturdays. It is always so much fun to have his friends here ... they are hilarious and always have fun!
I'm good. My classes are keeping me busy. I'm hoping to start working sometime soon. I have the sub job but so far just haven't had the time. College, kids, life in general .... keeping me busy!
Jinx is good. He wasn't eating for a couple weeks but is back on track. They said he was bored with his food. So we added some canned food and he's gaining weight again. So thankful!
Dani and I took a trip to Indiana for a few days the beginning of this month. It was alot of fun seeing everyone. The fam also went to Myrtle Beach for one last time while the weather was good. It was fun but Don thought the water was too cold. Yea Dani and I were in the waves! :) Carolyn came last Thursday and stayed til today. It is always nice when family comes to visit. She is such a great mother-in-law.
Well I think that's it for Lusterville.

Just another ...
Wow it has been a while! Who to begin with???
Jinx - well he is doing good. He is 10 months old and 97 pounds! Ya know he thinks he is a lapdog but someone sure does need to inform my puppy that he is not!
Dakotah - He is good, hurt but good. He played in his first football game and got hurt during the 2nd quarter. He got stretched out during half-time then went right back in for 3rd quarter. He took one too many helmets to his leg and was out in the 4th. He took it easy for 4 days then went back to practice. Guess he once again took one too many helmets to the leg and now has a tore muscle. :( Not sure what all they are going to do about it yet. It has been 2 weeks and his next doctor's appointment is next week so we shall see. I know he will have physical therapy but not sure the extent of the damage yet. Poor kid! No more bull riding or riding horses for a while. He has decided to take up the drums again. He is taking band as one of his classes and then next year is going to be part of the marching band. His high school has the number 2 marching band in the state of NC. So he is excited. Pretty proud of this kid. His high school has gotten off to a pretty good start.
DaniKay - Well she is loving her horsetime as much as ever! She has a horse show the end of next month and is excited. She is still getting tossed around by horses. She was riding Raven the other day and got ran into the cattle rail. Nice big purple bruise on her knee. That kid would live at the barn if she could. She is also doing great in school. She has taken up playing the trumpet. Her cool parents bought her a purple trumpet and had her name engraved on it. Such a cool mom and dad she has! Don and I love our tree-loving hippie daughter! :b
Don - He is doing okay. Wishing they'd figure the upcoming deployment details out but doing good. He finally went to the doctor yesterday about his knee. He found out that he has the knee of a 50 year old and has several bone spurs. :( Knew something was going on but was too stubborn to get it checked out. He is on profile so running at his own pace and distance. The Army sure does take a toll on the body. He is hoping to get back into school soon. Found one online he might be able to do.
Me - I'm okay just trying to keep up with life. I am taking 7 classes this quarter. So much schoolwork, so little time. I am starting back to substitute teaching again soon. I can't wait! I'm excited but stressed about it at the same time, not so sure about when I'm going to find time to work. I have also been going to the YMCA ... love swimming laps! Between my college, my kids, my husband, my puppy, and the Y I just have NO time. But hey that's how I love my life ... busy and full of things that make me happy!
Not much else going on in Lusterville.

Life in Lusterville ....
Been a while ... Lots of things have happened.
Dani and I went on vacation. Dakotah stayed here at Fort Bragg with a friend down the street. He took care of Jinx while I was gone and did a pretty good job. Was so happy to see both of them when I got home. Dakotah ran off to Stephens the day I got home for a week! He is enjoying his summer vacation very much!
Vacation started off with 2 days in Georgia with Don. Fort Gordon still isn't one of my favorite places in the world but it's a great place when Don is there! We had a good 2 days then headed off to Alabama. WOW didn't expect the trouble we had. As Dani and I were traveling down the highway my car suddenly went from 70 mph to 30 mph. Oh man! The car would speed back up slowly then it would die. ugh! Dani and I almost got smashed between 2 semis at one time and a couple other times we almost got smashed between other cars. So scary! Well my sister was on the phone with me during one of those times and she called my dad. It just so happened we were right down the road from where my dad worked! So my dad got us into a shop where he knows someone and got my car looked at. Long story short .. new transmission was needed. ugh! Lots of thanks to my dad for his help! :)
Vacation at my little sister's house was great! Owen is so cute. The last time I got to hold him for a minute before he was whisked away to the NICU. So it was so much fun to play with him and bond with the little man. Sadie Kay is adorable, as always! Love that little girl so much! Always a great time when our vacation leads us to my sister's house! I love it there!!!
To end our vacation we went back to Fort Gordon and spent 3 days with Don. It was so much fun! Don bought a game called Zombie Fluxx and wow we had a great time playing it!!! Can't wait til he gets home and we can play again!
Let's see ... kids are good. They start school the 25th of this month. I have all their dental and doctor appointments scheduled for the next 2 weeks so that we will be ready when the time comes. ugh doctor appointments!
I think that's about all that is going on. I have decided to take up writing and drawing again. Don has tried to persuade me to do this before but I was always so busy ... now I'm ready to get on it again. I am excited! We shall see where this leads.
I guess that's all for now.

Lusterville ...
Let's see we are all still breathing! :)
Don is in Georgia and not really enjoying himself. We hate Gordon because there is really nothing to do there. He has 5 more weeks and then he will be home again! YAY!!!
Dakotah is still his teenage self. He spent the week with Stephen and is now home for the few days before we leave on vacation.
Dani is good. A little more electric but good. She went to the barn today and is tired but had a good time.
I am good. I have 3 more days of school then it's finals and on to my vacation. I am ready to not be studying. I am almost done with school. I think I have about 8 classes left after fall and I can graduate!!!
This is my last week having Mason. We sure are going to miss that kid! Today the girls and I taught him to "punch bug" lol It was so cute! He is talking up a storm now. Hard to believe he is almost 2 ... growing up fast!
I am trying to get a job as a substitute for the schools here. I'm not sure about my status yet because I had to send in a couple more things before they looked at my application. The paperwork for them is almost as bad as when Don signed up for the military! :/ I am hoping to get it. I will be taking 5 classes online for my college courses so working will be hard but I don't feel right not working. Yea I know .. I'm weird! :)
Jinx is good. He graduates from his first set of dog obedience courses this weekend. I'm excited for him. He's such a great puppy! :)
Well that's life in Lusterville lately! :)

Vacation change of plans ...
Well, we are no longer going to Indiana on vacation.
The plan is to now go: see Don for 2 days then go to Julie's for a week. Of course Dakotah wants to go to the Hank memorials and Dani wants to go to the zoo. On the way back home we are going to stop and see Don for 4 more days. Then we will be home for a week before we head to Washington, DC. We are going to try and get tickets to the White House for Dakotah, DeShaun, Dani, Winter, and myself. It should be a fun trip! Then after we get back from that it will be time for Don to come home! :) School will be starting for myself and both kids. Life will be back to normal in Lusterville!

Dani & Lightning
Monday, July 12th, Dani was closing up the barn at the stables. She was holding on to the chain with both hands and trying to get the lock on. Lightning hit 3/4 miles away from the barn and traveled through the sand then through the barn then through Dani! She was checked out and seemed to be doing fine on Monday. Her heart and breathing and blood pressures were all normal. Her urine was normal too, guess that is a bad sign if your urine changes color) I don't know! Her shoulders, back, and legs hurt really bad but they said she was good. Tuesday she laid around all day and felt crummy and very tired. Her legs felt like they were on fire but her feet and arms felt like they were stuck in ice. The doctor said that she was fine but that her legs had some muscle damage and that it would take a while to get back to normal. It's now Thursday and she is doing much better. Her legs and back still hurt and she gets tired very quickly but she is alot better! They did tell us that if she had only had one hand on the chain that the lightning would have traveled through her arm then through her heart and out the other arm! If this had happened it would have killed her!!! So thankful that it went through her hands to her shoulders then down her back and out her feet. She did say that her legs caught most of the shock when it happened. She shook for 2 days after it happened. The doctor said that your body runs on electric currents so it was normal for her to shake. She is much better though and we are thankful that her guardian angels were working overtime and keeping their shields around her!

vacation is coming ...
I can't believe that there are 10 days left til the kids and I leave. Dakotah has decided to go with us. His friend is going to take care of Jinx so we don't have to drag him across country with us. We are going to have such a great time! First stop is GA for some time with Don!
I have so much to do in the next week. Appointments, Dani's helping with horse camp everyday, Dakotah's going to Stevo's for the week, finish up 2 college courses and 2 finals, spend time with Mason, and finally pack so we can get on the road. WOW!!! This next week should fly by!

Luster & Kaye vacation
Well it is over :( So sad when fun times come to an end. We had the best time! Jeremy, Tab, Trey, Demi, and Sara came and hung out with us for a week. Don and I also had the week off so we had a great time! We went to Kure Beach where Trey and Demi got pretty burnt. Dakotah caught a fish out of the ocean. It was pretty cool! :) We did so much in such a short time. The vacation ended at our house with a bunch of hair dye! :) Good times with some awesome friends! :) It was sad to see them leave us and head to Gatlinburg for the ending of their vacation but there will be another time soon.
If you want to see pictures then you can look at my facebook page. :)

Today
Today is a strange day. Don left yesterday for BNOC, 6 weeks in GA for school. As our family just falls back into a routine it seems weird to me. Its like he never came home 6 months ago and just poofed right back out of our lives. funny the things that become "normal" in our lives.
I am currently at Monkey Joes with DaniKay, Mason, and Lil Kota. They are enjoying themselves. Midgets are getting nice and tired for their naps. :) Love naptime!
Tonight Mason and Lil Kota are both spending the night! They are going to have so much fun together! :)
Later ya'll

Starting to feel alot like summer!
I love summertime! The weather has started to cool down alot this week. No more 100 degree weather. We are down to 90 degrees! Such a relief! :)
I have been taking Dani and Mason to the pool everyday. It is so much fun! I must say I don't think I'll ever have another job where I get to go to the pool everyday! This is my last official week of keeping Mason :( Gonna be a very sad goodbye come July.
Don starts his vacation this Friday! So excited. Jeremy and Tab and clan are coming on Saturday. We are going to have so much fun! :) Don leaves on the 9th of July and heads to GA for 2 months. Not really happy he's leaving but he is only 9 hours away! Would much rather him go somewhere in the US where we can visit instead of Iraq/Afghan. Dani and I are starting to get excited about our vacation together. Dakotah is going to stay with his friend down the street and take care of Jinx.
I have 3 weeks left of summer courses. I'll be so happy when they end. 3 weeks of nothing til fall starts. I will not even think a moment about school for that 3 weeks! :)
Not sure what else is going on. The kids are being teenagers enjoying their summers. Dakotah comes home to eat and shower then heads back out again. Dani has friend after friend spending the night with her. Stay up late ... sleep late ... be bums! :) Love my teens!!!

So Proud of Myself ...
I have an A average in my math class! I got a 99 on my first test and a 102 on the second one! All the rest of my grades in that class are 100. I'm so proud of me!!!!

Just another update ...
It was another week of busy and fun in Lusterville.
On Friday I took Mason, Lil Kota, and Dani to the pool. My friend, Angi, brought Winter and Chylena and Chy's friend. The kids all had so much fun. After 4 1/2 hours of pool fun Angi and I decided that we better go home and cook our kids dinner.
Saturday Jinx had his obedience class. He is doing quite well. I'm so proud of him! While in PetSmart I weighed him and he weighs 90.5 pounds at just 7 months old. WOW!!! When I have him in PetSmart people are always coming up to me and telling what a beautiful dog he is and asking how old he is or how much he weighs, etc etc etc. One guy walked up to me and told me that I should give him Jinx because Jinx was a man's dog not a girl's. I laughed and told him no way Jinx was mine! :) Jinx has 4 weeks left of training then he will graduate from the first level and move on to the second level in August. We are hoping to get him into service dog training. They have service/therapy dogs for depression so we are hoping to get Jinx trained for that and use him with Dani. We shall see what the future holds for our Jinx!
My friend, Angi, and I took her girls, Dani, Big Kotah, and Lil Kota to see Toy Story 3 Saturday evening. It was a great movie! We have been movie-aholics lately ... Alice in Wonderland has been my favorite so far. Shutter Island was confusing like the book so I didn't finish watching it. Dani watched Dear John and liked it, so not my type of movie. I would cry through the whole thing! From Paris with Love is good but of course I would say that because its a John Travolta movie! was another good one but there were so many things that were unrealistic in it! I must say falling from a plane in a tank was pretty cool! A-TeamToy Story 3 was absolutely awesome!!! Spy Next Door was cute. Edge of Darkness was good. Legion was great! These are the most recent. We are gonna go see Robin Hood tonight. There are so many more on the list of "Stacy must sees" ... love Red Box! It seems like good movies come out all at once then suddenly there are no good movies for a while. Lately has been good ones! :)
Don is good. Yesterday they had nerd day at our house and him and his friends played games all day until late at night. They had a great time. He has 2 weeks left before he gets a week of vacation then it's off to the big state of Georgia for 2 months. There are several friends of his going at the same time so it shouldn't be too boring! ;)
Today Don had a great Father's Day! We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch. :) We went to Barnes and Nobles for Don's Father's Day gift ... some new books in the series he's reading. The mall was fun and then on to Edward McKay's for Don's other series he's reading. Yeah my hubby loves to read! :) He's a sci-fi junkie!!! We came home for some quiet-time then we are gonna drop Lil Kota off to her Daddy and are gonna go to see Robin Hood. Can't ask for better Father's Day fun!
Dakotah spent last week with Stephen. He had alot of fun, as always. Not quite sure what he is doing this week but I'm sure it has alot of friends in the plans. He got a certificate for having a 3.0 - 3.5 grade average during his 9th grade, so proud of my baby!
Dani spent last week hanging out with friends and at the barn. This week I'm sure she will have a little barn time in the mix and alot of pool and friend time. She is getting excited about going on a Mommy/Dani vacation.
I'm good. I don't have much planned this week except hanging out at the pool with DaniKay and Mason. Got some school work to do but other than that I'm just waiting on next weekend when we can relax and do family stuff again! :)
2 weeks til Tab, Jeremy, and kids come for a week. I am getting excited! We always have a great time with them. Then 4 more weeks til Dani/Mommy vacation. Still waiting to see if we get tickets to the White House. Hoping so but if not we will still travel through DC and get lots of pictures! Getting very excited myself!!!
Summertime is here!
Summer is finally here!!!
The kids are finally out of school! I am probably the only mom excited that her kids are home. :) I love doing things with them and having them around, although they drive me nuts!
Dani was going to try to start going out to the barn more but they have changed the rules and you now have to sign up to go out. So since the barn has been out of the question this week she has been spending alot of time at the pool. Kid is getting tan!
Dakotah is trying to do a million things at one time this summer. He has so many things he wants to do. He is going to Stephen's til Saturday then probably will go back after Father's Day. Between all of Dakotah's friends he probably won't be home too much this summer. :)
I am getting excited about my vacation with Dani. It is going to be so much fun! We are trying to go through the White House on our way up to Pennsylvania. If we don't get tickets then we will just go through some of the other places nearby. After the Wash DC we are going to Pittsburgh to visit our awesome friend, Kira. I think we are taking Dani to the zoo. She is excited and will have so much fun with Kira. Once we are done there we are headed over to Indiana for a while then down to hopefully Alabama then to Georgia for Dani's birthday with Daddy. It will be a fun vacation for the two of us.
I am still going to school 4 nights a week. UGH Math! 5 1/2 weeks left! I am also taking another Early Childhood Ed class online. I am down to only babysitting my sweet sweet Mason! It is so much fun doing stuff with him. We sure will miss him when he moves.
We had a very busy weekend this past weekend. Friday we had Lil Kota's birthday party at the barn. I made her cake. It was fun and ended up really cute. The party was fun. We brought Mason with us to the barn and he had a great time, as always with Cerenity and Kota. Dani and Lil Kota went home with Hilary Friday night and spent the night. They had a great time! Saturday night we went to Hilary & fam's going away party. They are moving next week. Sunday Don and I took Dani out to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings then to see A-Team, a great movie! Monday was the Army birthday so noone had to work and we had Mason's birthday party. I made his cake and it turned out great too! We had a great time. Spent too much time in the pool and everyone turned red but still had a great time.
Don is good too. He is just working working and working! :) He is looking forward to the first week of July when he takes vacation and his best friend and fam come down for a week. It is going to be so much fun, always is! Then he is going to Georgia for 2 months.
Well that's Lusterville this week ... Later all! :P

Another Day ...
All is well in Lusterville ...
I had a very long talk last night with an unexpected person last night and alot of fog is now gone. It is great when someone you least expect to talk to is there and tells you things that were missing in life. :)
Kids are good ... Doing Dakotah/Dani things but good. They have one more week of school left. So ready for summer vacation!
School is going good for me. All who know me know I hate math ... but math is coming along. 7 more weeks!!! My online course is going good. The ECE classes are always kinda easy for me. I am hoping to finish up my AA this time next year. Working hard and hopefully can finish up by then. Really really want to be done before Don deploys.
Mason is moving the 1st week of August :( I'm going to try and get back into substitute teaching. Application is almost complete. I just have to get a couple more things and get it turned in. With any luck I'll get to have a job I enjoy.
We have a full weekend ahead of us next week. Lil Kota's bday party, Hilary & Fam's going away party, Jinx's obedience class, Don's nerdery group, Mason's bday party, and hopefully some time at the lake! Never a dull moment in Lusterville on the weekends!!!
Summer plans:
Tab, Jeremy, and kids are coming to visit us the first week of July! So excited. We are gonna have so much fun!!! Don is leaving in July for a couple months. Dakotah is trying to go on another road trip to OK/TX. He had so much fun on his last trip! Dani and I are going on a Mommy/Dani vacation. Thinking of going through Wash DC and Pennsylvania on our way to Indiana. Hopefully we will make it to Illinois before we head back home. Gonna be gone for 3 weeks! So much fun!!!
Have a great week everyone!!!

Memorial Day Weekend...
We had a great weekend filled with barn, riding (Dani falling off twice), movies, relaxation, and Fantasy Lake.
Fantasy Lake was alot of fun. I saved a little boy. The lifeguards weren't doing their job and while they were talking a little boy was drowning. I jumped in and swam to him, got him out, then proceeded to tell the lifeguards about themselves. The guy told me he was a lifeguard and was going his job ... really? Then why didn't they hear the little boy screaming help between him going under about 3 times??? UGH teen lifeguards! Aside from the idiot lifeguards we had a great time! Didn't even get burnt! YAY!!!
Jess came and spent the weekend with Dani, which is always fun. The girls have been best friends every since we moved here and it's always fun having the two of them together!
Dakotah called me yesterday to say he loves me! :) He has been gone since Thursday. He is having so much fun. He went to Fort Sill, OK for a couple days and now it at Fort Hood, TX. He is have a blast in Texas with Lamar and Ishy, of course DayDay too. Lamar and Ishy are Kotah's best friends from Washington.
Tomorrow is back to the "real world" :( Don't wanna go Don't wanna go!

Awesome Weekend!!!
We had another great weekend. Love the warm weather and have been spending so much time outside!
Dani had a horse show on Saturday. She did great, as always. Stoney didn't even throw her when he was under speaker! She even rode Belle and did poles. She has never tried poles before so I was very proud of her. I posted pictures of the show on facebook.
Dakotah spent the weekend at a friends house. Being boys! :D
Today we went to the beach. It was so much fun. Dani and I were out playing in the waves when I looked up and saw a dolphin a foot from us. After telling her it was a shark and getting her out of the water she was so mad at me. It was funny but in the end she was so happy to be able to say a dolphin was a foot from her. We sat on the beach and watched it jump and swim around for a while before it swam away. She even drug her Daddy out into the ocean for a few minutes. The water wasn't really warm yet because we got there early so Don didn't stay in long. But the water temp didn't keep Dani or myself from playing! :D Lil Kota went with us and had alot of fun too. I posted pictures on facebook.
We are not ready for Monday. It's going to be a long week, so much to do for all of us :(

Ugh Mondays ...
Someone forgot to pay the NC heating bill. It is FREEZING outside! What the heck happened to our warm summer weather :(
It was a great weekend. Saturday Dakotah went camping with his friends. They had alot of fun but were scared of a Russian guy and an old man with a poodle. ROFL ... boys! I got to see my Stevo too. ;p
Don had his friends over and they did nerdy stuff til way past I went to bed on Saturday. NERDS!
Sunday was great too. My hubby and kids love me so much! :) Nice to be reminded every now and then. Dani had all my "kids" sign this huge card for me! I love all my "kids" aka Dani's friends! :)
I got to reconnect with one of my favorite people ever this weekend too. It was so awesome!!! It's been over 12 years since we've talked. How cool is facebook sometimes! Good thing we both have unlimited texting!
Dani's got braces issues. Her band is falling off. It would be ok if it wasn't connected to the appliance in the top of her mouth and the band on the other side. Poor kid. She was crying and we all know when Dani cries my heart melts. We got it pushed back up onto her tooth the best we could but without cement it just keeps falling back down. She was hungry and couldn't eat because she was biting on the metal. Took her this morning to get it fixed but we have to wait til this afternoon. Poor kid can't seem to catch a break! :(
Ok Mason is hugging on me ... My baby boy wants my attention!

May 1999
11 years ago this month I was a single mom, receiving no child support and working 2 jobs to take care of Dakotah and Dani on my own. I followed my friend, Angel, and started working at Outback where I met the most awesome group of friends, some of who are my most treasured family members. Not only did I meet Jeremy and Tab but I also met Don. We started dating in July and it has been the best 11 years of my life every since!
In 2002 we got married ... besides the day both my children were born that was the best day of my life! We have had an awesome 11 years together and an awesome 8 years of marriage! I love you Donald and am so proud of you! My favorite soldier and hero!
My kids are lucky to have such a wonderful Daddy! No one will ever love Dakotah and DaniKay more than Don has loved his children. He has done such a great job raising two spoiled little midgets and turned them into two spoiled awesome teenagers! He has given my kids more than I ever dreamed/wanted them to have. He has been there for them through the hardest times in their lives and through the best times in their lives. I'm so glad that Dakotah and DaniKay have such an awesome father and friend in their lives. I can't think of anyone that I would rather raise these two spoiled monsters with!
I love you Donald and thank you for all you have done for us!

Another Monday Update ...
It's a blah Monday in Lusterville. Even my babies are blah today. Must be the weather. It's finally warm again. Love the warm weather!!!
Don went and spent the day with Dani at school on Friday. She had so much fun having her Daddy at school with her. She took alot of pictures of the Ryan Daniel concert. She got a signature picture of Ryan Daniel. She also got her arm signed and got to meet The Black Daggers Parachute Team. She was very excited. I'll post the pictures of the concert and Parachute team on my facebook. Saturday Dani spent the day at the barn then went on a date with her Daddy. They went to see Nightmare on Elm Street. Dani loves to be scared! :) Sunday Dani went back to the barn and got extremely sunburnt! She had alot of fun though! :-) Two more weeks before her next horse show!
Dakotah had a good weekend too. He hung out with his friends and their band on Saturday. Dakotah is getting really good at playing all his guitars. Sunday Dakotah also went to the barn and had alot of fun. He came home a "red neck" lol He wore a t-shirt so his neck and face are all that got burnt! :p
I had class on Friday night and again on Saturday afternoon. But Sunday I got to spend the whole day with my best friend and favorite soldier. We did nothing but hang out and had the best time! I am almost done with school for this semester. I have some final project stuff to finish up today, a couple tests to take, then another final this weekend. After this weekend I am done til summer courses start!!! YAY!
We have a busy weekend this coming weekend. Dani has a party to go to. I'll have Lil Kota and a cake to make for Chy's party. Dakotah and his friends are going camping. Never a dull moment in Lusterville, just the way I love it!!! I'm so happy my kids have so many opportunities to do the things they love. My life couldn't get any better, well no deployments would be nice but since there is one in the near future I will be satisfied with what we have! :)
Later all ....

Busy Life in Lusterville
As always alot is going on.
Zachals last day here is Wednesday so we had him a birthday/going away party on Saturday. The kids had a great time. 3 of them spent the night. Mason came to hang out with Lil Kota and so did Jedaris. The little kids came inside with me when the mosquitos came out but the older kids stayed out and did marshmallows over the firepit.
I took Jinx to get his shots yesterday and WOW! That puppy has gained just over 8 pounds in about 2 1/2 weeks!!! According to the vet he is very healthy. I was also told he was a very well behaved dog! I think so for only being 6 months and he listens pretty good too but I love my puppy so I'm a little biased! :) Every time we go to PetSmart with him so many people stop to tell me what a "pretty dog" I have ... well I must admit he is pretty good looking! ;b When we got home from PetSmart Jinx went out and dug in his favorite mudhole. He was covered in mud so Dani threw him in the pool with her and her friends. Yeah he jumped out and didn't go near the pool again! :) Smart puppy! He starts dog obedience school in a few weeks and I'm very excited!
Dakotah is doing good. He bought a bass electric guitar and has been going and playing every day with a couple of friends. He is quite good and seems to really enjoy it.
Dani is good just not ready for Zach to move but hey that's military life! :/
I'm doing good. Still taking cooking classes. My finals are coming up this week and next for my FayTech courses. ugh so not ready to take them but ready for a couple weeks off before summer term. I registered for 5 classes this fall and filed my fasfa now just to wait and see what that award letter says. My medical transcription courses are going slow. I have so many end of semester projects due that I haven't had much time to focus on medical transcription. But soon soon soon ... I hope ;/
Don is doing good. Busy, as always.
That's it for Lusterville ....

Perfect Day 4/22/10
I didn't have Emma yesterday so I decided to take full advantage of just having 2 kids! Mason and Jedaris and I spent the entire day away from my house!!!
First we went to a park picnic with Angi, Winter, Dan and Dan's son and mom. We had so much fun. Mason rode the train 3 times and didn't want to get off. He also played on the bouncy thing. He sang and danced with the music. It was so much fun. Jedaris was so good and fell asleep about 30 minutes before we left.
We brought Jedaris home to her mom then Mason, Winter, and I were off to pick up Dani and Zach from school.
We met up with Angi and girls at Monkey Joes. Mason played and played and played. He loved climbing up the slides and jumping on the bouncy things. The older kids had so much fun too! After the kids were done playing, Angi and I took them all to Cici's and met up with Don for dinner.
It was an awesome day and everyone had so much fun! :-)
First we went to a park picnic with Angi, Winter, Dan and Dan's son and mom. We had so much fun. Mason rode the train 3 times and didn't want to get off. He also played on the bouncy thing. Monday ...
It is a beautiful day out today. We have been having so many! We had a wonderful weekend!!!
On Saturday I took one of my cooking classes then came home to watch the midgets, Lil Kota and Cerenity. Don spent the day Saturday hanging out with one of his good friends. They had a great time! Dani spent the day at Zach's. Dakotah spent the day babysitting for me so I could do my cooking class. On Sunday the kids went and helped a friend. Dani rode the horses while Dakotah helped Becca around her barn getting stuff done. They had a great time! After we picked them up we went to eat at Dakotah's favorite Chinese restaraunt.
We got an awesome wakeup call at midnight saying our friend, Hilary, was having her baby. So Don and I went and picked up Cerenity. Hopefully we will have a little Evhrett soon! :o)
Today I have 5 kids and love it!!! The kids are being so good and having so much fun playing together. We spent the morning outside because they are mowing our neighborhood and we have to be inside while they do it or they won't do our yard.
Days like today make me think of reconsidering quitting my job but then I think of all the nutso parents I deal with and think again!!! :b I love the kids!
I have another couple months til Cerenity and Mason move :( I sure am gonna miss both those kids alot and their parents. Both families have become such an important part of our lives!
We are going to have a busy week here in Lusterville. Don, of course, is working. Dani is going to Zach's everyday after school. I have class every night. Dakotah is going to hang out with his girlfriend after school on days he isn't helping babysit. Oh and we have Cerenity for a few days while Hilary has that baby!!! :) Yes we are loving having Ren cause we won't have her anymore after June :(
Well I am off to lay a couple sleepy kids down for a nap! Gotta love naptime! I'm going to try and write my paper that is due tomorrow *procrastination* I have cake decorating class tonight and am so excited!!!

Cindy -- I love you!!!
Ok Cindy here ya go. You might have to read one or two of the other posts to catch up but ..... Ok so I just reread this and it is a little random in some places. It's hard to write your blog when the kids are coming home from school and trying to talk to me =b
It's been a cold week here. The sun is out and shining but the weather is cool. Tomorrow is supposed to be 90 so I'm very excited! I have been able to play outside with the kids everyday. We have had fun. Yesterday Mason and I played fetch with Jinx for about an hour. It was so much fun to watch them both chase the toy and then fight over it. Our dog is growing and acts more like a 2 year old everyday!!! I am so lucky to have the job I do. I'm not sure what other job allows you to play outside everyday and enjoy the weather.
All my plants are planted and growing. Remember my tomato plants on the side of our Lewis house and Dani's huge sunflowers??? Dani has sunflowers in my greenhouse because for the last 2 years the squirrels have eaten whatever sunflower seeds she tries to grow.
I started cake decorating classes on Monday and now am going to be doing Asian cooking classes on Thursdays. I am so excited about these classes.
I am still plugging away on these degrees. I should be finished with my Early Childhood classes by this time next year and I'll also be done with my medical transcriptionist classes. It will be nice to have both of those done and then I can have a choice of which field I wanna work in. I am going to register next week for my fall classes and it looks like I'll be taking 5 courses again. UGH but I wanna finish so it's to the books I go. I have no idea what I'll take this summer because the class schedule isn't available yet. I am hoping to get at least 4 of my classes I need during the summer but we shall see when the schedule finally gets out! :/
I am still babysitting. I have Dakota (aka Lil Kota) who is 2, Emma who is one, Mason who is 1 1/2, and Jedaris who is 9 months. They keep me so busy during the day. I won't have Emma much longer, once her mom gets her school on track she will be keeping her. Mason will be moving in July. Jedaris' mom won't be working after June because of summer vacation. So concentrating on school this summer should be easy =)
I am so sad that Mason and his parents are moving. He has been a part of our "family" for 1 1/2 years now so it will be hard to see him go. We are very happy for his family though because they are going to be stationed at the station of their choosing! They chose to be near their family in Texas. They will all be so happy there.
Dakotah and Dani are still hanging out around here. We are having Dani's boyfriend, Zach a going away party :( They will have fun at the party but it's sad he's leaving. Yeah it's the same stuff different age. Their friends hang out here and they have fun. You know me, I wouldn't have it any other way! I love my kids being around! :) Both kids are back in public school. Dakotah is doing well in school and starting to decide what he wants to do with his life. He is into bull riding and actually does quite well. He told me today that he got on the football team for next year! So exciting!!! Girlfriend? ha He is constantly changing his facebook status to single then in a relationship then single again. He is trying to enjoy his teen years. He got his drivers permit last week and is loving having the option of driving everywhere. Dani is also doing good in school. She is the same tree loving hippie that she was when we were in WA. She was so sad when she started back to public school and was told she could no longer dye her hair a gazillion colors. She said "they took my spirit" hehe They have to wear uniforms so she only gets to dress like Punky Brewster on the weekends and breaks.
My friends are moving :(
My friend, Hilary, is moving to KY. I'm very happy for her but I'll miss her alot!
My friend, Kindel, is also moving. They are going to Germany! WOW so much fun there!!!
I am sad to hear Kira is going to Fort Lewis. hehe Really I am happy! We could have a girl reunion. You and Kira are going to have so much fun!!!
Don is busy. He's Plattoon Sgt so he is always at work or dealing with work. I try to tell him to do a crappy job and they'll quit putting him in charge of people. But you know Don ... he does his best and I am proud of him for it. He is still the same ole' Don - sarcastic and people think he loves them when he's really speaking the truth or his mind and just want them to go away! *another reason I love him* He is going to GA for 2 months in July. He hopefully can go for his E7 the beginning of next year. I hope so because he works so hard and deserves it! :)
I'm still loving military life but not loving military wives! Same old drama different state!!! :/ I'm still keeping to myself and not really having "friends" It seems everytime I find a "friend" something happens or they just want me to be their babysitter or they take advantage of me or Dakotah and Don both can't stand my "friend" rofl Gotta love those two! Dakotah gets so mad when he sees someone taking advantage of me. Both him and Don are always telling me to just say no to people. I have changed and put up with so much more now than I used to. I don't know why ... I think I'm too busy to deal with it and just ignore it and hope it will go away. Dakotah is so much like me Cindy ... you wouldn't believe it! He is sarcastic like Don but opinionated just like me! :)
Let's see ... I don't know what else is going on. I don't know ... I think that is all. I need to get going and change my clothes and get ready for my cooking class. You know if you were here I'd so drag you along!!!
Overall my life is going great! I can't complain because well I wouldn't have my life any other way!
I miss you Cindy and can't wait til we can hang out again.
I love you lots n lots!!!

It's Spring in Lusterville :-)
We have been very busy!
Don is working hard and ready for a vacation! Work and work and work seems to be all he gets done lately. If he isn't at work he is spending time with us because he goes to Georgia in July for 2 months. I am so proud of him for all he is accomplishing with his career. Now if he can just get back into school but he is so busy he doesn't have time to study.
Dakotah got his learners permit so he's wanting to drive everytime we go anywhere. lol He spent his spring break with his best friend, Stephen. They had alot of fun. He came home yesterday and went to the Daughtry last night. He had alot of fun with his friends at the concert.
DaniKay is growing up! She spent her spring break hanging out with her boyfriend, Zach and neighborhood friends, Caitlin, Mitchell, and Winter. We had a couple warm days where the kids played in their pool.
I have been so busy with school I think my brain is going to just quit thinking! I have been thinking of doing medical transcription on and off for the last 2 years. I finally decided to give it a shot since I'll be quitting daycare and getting a "real" job once Mason moves. So I am working on my Medical Transcription courses through CareerStep. I am also going to Fayetteville Tech for Early Childhood Education. I am hoping to be done with the transcription courses the beginning of next year. I will then hopefully be able to work from home while finishing up my other degree. I also am looking into going back to substitute teaching so we will see what the future holds.
It is hard to juggle school, daycare, and family but in the long run it will pay off! I'm so thankful for having a great hubby and kids. Without their help I'd probably drown in everything going on.
Jinx is growing so fast! I took him to the vet 2 weeks ago and he weighs 61.7 pounds and he's only 5 months old!!! Gonna be such a big puppy! I love it! I was so proud of him when we took him to get his shots. He didn't bark at any of the other dogs or people. Now if he can just get ahold of whomever is trying to break in our house. I am so tired of broken screens. I really don't want them in our home but I think one good go around with Jinx and they'll stop trying to get in! He is scheduled to take dog obedience classes the end of May and I'm excited for that.
Garden??? I have got lettuce already growing! My strawberries are starting to bloom and should have some red one within the next couple weeks. My tomatoes are about 6 inches high already! My cucumbers and squash are about an 3 inches tall. I have beautiful flowers in my front yard blooming. Today Mason and I planted seed for cactus, wild flowers, and herbs. Dani's sunflowers are about an inch tall so we should be able to plant them in the next couple weeks. The last 2 years we have tried here the squirrels eat them so we are trying to get them growing before we put them out this year. My greenhouse Don got me last year for my birthday is AMAZING! I love it!
I love this time of year! Well, I think that is our updates for now!

Don't have time to post pictures so visit my facebook page and there are a TON!!! :)
Enjoy them, I do!

Life Lately
Wow so much has been going on. Don the kids and I have been busy busy.
I'm still going to college fulltime for Early Childhood Ed. I added Medical Transcription to my college degrees so I'm going to college double time! ugh I'm in for the torture I guess. I just hope I can keep the 2 degree courses seperate in my head! :) I'm still doing unofficial daycare. I have a 1yr old, 11mo old, 8mo old, and a 2yr old. So that keeps my house a mess and me on the go not to mention all the "stay at home mommy" duties. Sitting at home eating bon bons and watching tv sure isn't in my days :) hehe
Don is doing good. He just got put in charge of alot of soldiers (PLT SGT) so he's the first to work and the last one home. ugh No rest for those that work hard! I keep telling him if he does a crappy job they'll quit putting him in charge. Reality is I would be upset if he followed my advice but coming home at a normal time would also be nice! I'm proud of that man!!! He is still doing karate when work permits and loves it!
Dakotah is good. Loving that bull riding and being a country boy! He just finished drivers ed and is itching to get that permit! When he turns 16 he will be taking some college courses at Fay Tech so he's excited about that!
DaniKay is doing good. Getting a little sad that her boyfriend, Zach, is moving in a month. She is still loving those horses and doing horse shows.
We had a great time camping this weekend with our friends and a ton of kids! Don and I stayed in a cabin with 4 kids, Hilary/Tim stayed in a cabin with 4 kids, and Dakotah and his friend, Austin, stayed in a tent across from the cabins. We brought our dog and Hilary brought her Great Dane, Zoe. It was alot of fun!!! The boys went fishing at 2am :)
Tomorrow our friends from GA are coming to stay the night. We are excited to see those Nash kids and Kindel too! :) It has been too long. Watch for some photos on facebook.
Easter Dani is going to an Easter party/lunch at her best friends. So we will be eating some yummy Angi cooked food! :) Dakotah will be fat and happy!!! He loves his Angi cooked food.
Jinx is growing like crazy. He is such a good puppy!!!
Well, I believe that's all that has been going on. I'll try to update more than I have been. I just can't seem to get on here and get it done lately! Sorry

Indiana Vacation
Well, the mountains cleared up and we made our trip to Indiana. It was fun visiting our friends and family. On the way up Don was telling me to turn right while pointing to the right and saying "turn left." lol We turned right and made it safely down the road. Dani stated "don't follow my left, it will get you in alot of trouble." Oh my daughter and her ADOS (Attention Deficit Oh Shiny) So we got to Don's mom on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday we went to visit both my grandmothers. Mamaw G had a family dinner and we got to see alot of our family. It was so nice to visit with them. We don't get to see them often enough so it was an evening of fun and awesome food! We spent Sunday night with Mama D and on Monday awoke to a yummy breakfast! Oh did I mention she made us lunch Sunday afternoon? Living the grandma dream! :) So Monday we ran errands and went back to Kokomo. Dani, of course, spent both Sunday and Monday night with Mamaw G. She always stays with Mamaw G a day or two when we go up. Mamaw G took her to the mall. When asked if she had fun with Mamaw G her reply was "we went to the mall and they ONLY had 7 stores. I can not live here!" She is too cute sometimes. Tuesday night Don's mom had Christmas dinner for us. It was a wonderful evening of good food and family. We always have a nice time when we have family dinners! :) Monday night we hung out with Jeremy and Tab and kids. It was alot of fun and laughter, as always! Myrtle Beach this summer with them will be a blast! :) Wednesday was a day of telling everyone goodbye. We did miss seeing a few of our friends but are hoping to catch them next time. Overall our visit was wonderful and we had a great time. Today we left Indiana and headed to Pigeon Forge. We had dinner with our great friend, Nathan aka Luc. It was nice to see him again. He and Susie will be coming to eat at the Apple Barn with us on Saturday before we head home. Can't wait! Well that is our vacation. I'll post pictures later and give a Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg update.
Love vacation time! :)

February 2010
I logged on to type an update then the kids woke up and the puppy woke up so now I'm referring a 1 year old, 2 year old, 3 year old, and a 4 month old puppy. :) Who says my life is boring???
We have had a busy month! Don came home FINALLY! He had to go right to work but only had half days. Now he is on leave! YEAH leave! So while Don has been gone our dryer has been taking forever to dry clothes. This last month has been really bad. It takes up to 4 times to dry a load of clothes. So finally we went out and bought a new dryer. Well this brought it down to 2 times to dry a load. So Picerne, military housing, finally came out and looked at our stuff only to find that it's their fault! If they did their annual maintenance on our house like they are supposed to then they would've cleaned our dryer vent (on the roof) and we never would've had an issue. Well Don let me keep my awesome new dryer and the vent got cleaned so now our clothes dry in one timing! Such a great feeling to open the dryer after 40 minutes and find dry clothes! :)
We had a great Valentine's Day weekend. I got Don a laptop stand for our room so he can sit on our bed and do his stuff. He got me a much needed microwave, my favorite flannel sheets, and a frog pillow. I have such a great hubby! :) Yesterday we took Dakotah, Dani, and Zach to Olive Garden then to play Lazer Tag and some arcading. It was fun.
Oh I forgot to say that the gas peddle fell off the Explorer. UGH ... our friend Tim helped get it back on and helped changed the throttle cable. Thank God for great friends! :)
We leave on Friday for Indiana. Not looking forward to the weather or the drive in the snowy weather to get up there and back home. Of course our family couldn't live in say Florida! :) lol It will be nice to be up there and see everyone for a week. I'm most looking forward to hanging out with Don and the kids. We always have fun on our trips!
Jinx is growing like crazy. Hard to believe he's 4 months old! He is getting so big. He is still a big baby and Don likes how he blends in with our couch. :) lol
Don - he's still on leave. He only has another week and a half left which is sad. He is enjoying his time away from the Army. He has been helping run my errands and be "taxi dad" which is extremely cool! I have missed having help with little things like picking up prescriptions or the kids from school.
Dakotah - he's doing good. We finally decided on a high school for him, yes it was a hard decision. He is still into horses but has also started skateboarding again. Hopefully next month it will be warmer and he can go bull riding again.
Dani - she is doing good too. She is really upset because her favorite horse, the one she always rides in the horse shows, is being auctioned in a couple months. Hopefully she can use him for one more show in March before he's gone. She has a boyfriend, Zach, who is so sweet. They are best friends and they are so cute together.
Me - I'm still doing what I always do. I am watching 4 kids. Mason is 1, Dakotah is 2, Alicia is 2, and Jedaris is 7 months. Cerenity is 3 and she likes to come over nad play with us too but I don't "watch" her. I am having trouble with one of my parents paying me, as usual. She wants me to watch her kid more than we agreed on but doesn't want to pay me what we agreed on. Not sure how she figures that she should pay me less while I watch her kid more. :( There are days when I wish I had a "real" job. Mason is moving in July or August and I'm considering going back to the schools as a substitute. I loved doing that in WA so we will see. I'm still going to college. I took on only 2 classes that began the week Don got home from Afghani and my other 2 start in March. So I will be really busy next month.
Well that's it and I need to get these kids changed and outside to get out some of their energy. Hope everyone has a great week! :)
:) lol

Don's home
WOW can't believe we are finally together again! Don is home! Don is home! Don is home! Don is home! We are having such a great time together!
We have been doing good. It hasn't been quite a week yet that he's been home and it seems like he's been home forever! =)
The Colts are going to the Superbowl!!! :) So excited!!!
Let's see ... Dani has been "going out" with her boyfriend, Zach for about 3 months now. He is moving the end of April so its going to be very hard for her. She had a horse show last weekend and won 5 ribbons.
Dakotah is good. Being Dakotah ...

I'm decorating a friend's barracks room and I'm babysitting and trying to keep the house clean. Only a few more hours! YIPEEEEEEEEEE

Gots a puppy!
I forgot to mention Jinx in my blog. We have a 10 week old pitbull. He is such a sweet little puppy and so smart. He listens to everything we tell him and catches on to his house rules pretty quick. We are still housetraining but it is going unusually well.
We had to get rid of our beagles because they kept escaping. Can't be chasing dogs around while the baby's at home taking care of himself! :)

Twas the night before Don's return ....
Wow Don is coming home tomorrow!!! I absolutely can not believe they are sending him home! I was a little convinced they were going to just station him in Kuwait! haha :) So much has happened over the last year. It has been a very long year. I feel as though Don has been gone for 3 or 4 years! It is going to be nice to have him home to help with all the stressful situations that come along.
Over the last year I have overcome many struggles. Having Dakotah who somehow trouble seems to find tends to lead us down many stressful days. Having Dani who trips over air also leads to many stressful days. ...
On the day Don left Dakotah spent the night with a friend, whom we later found out was a recruiter for a gang, and they were out in the yard after curfew. This landed the police on my door and later landed me in the child protection office. UGH ... after a long process I was cleared and deemed a good mom and it was over. Later Dani was on the swing set at the park and the swing collapsed on her. The following day we went to the civilian ER and got her treated. The Army not seeing my visit to a civilian doctor once again had child protection services call me. UGH ... that was also cleared. Dani had a crazy friend with a crazy mom. When Dani decided she no longer wanted to be friends with this girl the mom went nuts and kept trying to start fights with me. Finally I was done when she cussed Dani out and threatened to hurt Dani. She stated that since I wouldn't deal with my daughter that she would have her husband come to deal with her. YIKES! Psycho, not to mention her daughter had been going around threatening to shoot Dani and her friends with her dad's gun. What do these parents teach their children??? So after my persistance and threatening to involve the inspector general the air force police dealt with the situation. Did I mention this went on for months? Did I mention that child protection got called when I called the police on the lady threatening Dani? Was a little confused on why child protection got called but everyone else refused to do anything til I threatened to go over their heads. UGH ... psycho neighbors and children! Dani is constantly falling off a horse! Thankfully she gets right back on. But one time she got thrown off and hit her head really hard on the cattle railing. She had 3 seizures. Yeah scary! She had tests done and it was concluded that she was going to be fine. Do you think she quit riding horses and falling off? NOPE she loves those horses and can't imagine her life without them. I got her some lessons and now she falls off a little less. :) Dakotah has an enlarged heart. It was so scary when I first found out. I didn't know what to do or if it was bad. He went and did the appropriate tests and we found out that he is going to be fine. He is on heart medication and doing great! :) We also struggled with his other medication. He quit taking his ADHD medication and we seem to be doing good. Dani quit taking her depression medication and her ADD medication. She is also doing good. I'm so proud of her and how she has handled her depression over this year. We were so worried about her since last deployment was horrible for her. Kinda really proud of this kid for handling this deployment so well! Dakotah tried bullriding and loved it! He is really good at it too, which is pretty cool. The first time he did it Dani was balling her eyes out and begging me not to let him do it. I was telling her to quit crying and cheering him on. Wow does that make me a bad mom? ha He got off and told me I was a bad mom... what kind of mom lets their kid get on a bull? Yeah that's me. He had so much fun and has been out to do it again. I thought I was going to die once this year. I was under so much stress that my diabetes went out of control. I couldn't see or walk or anything. I was so scared. Dakotah went with me to the ER where we found out that I needed to get rid of some of the stress in my life. ha OK deployed husband and two teenagers. Ummmmm yeah not sure what stress to get rid of. After a couple days I was fine but man was that scary. Now I am no longer a diabetic and no longer take the medication! YEAH ME!!! I had a daycare until April of this year. It was so stressful that I had to quit doing it. I kept one of the babies and everyone else had to hit the road. I also homeschooled the kids after the gang incident with Dakotah. Going to college fulltime, homeschooling 2 kids, running a daycare, and having a deployed hubby .... hmmmmm wonder why the ER docs thought I was stressed! :) So the daycare went and everything else stayed. I homeschooled the kids until a couple months ago when Dakotah decided that he could do better in public school AND would do his work. So I put him in. I realized how much easier life was without homeschooling him and asked Dani if she'd like to go back. She said yes she'd like to try so in she went. Now both kids are doing excellent! I'm so proud of them and it has calmed my life a little more. I was also homeschooling 2 other children but they both also went back to school. So now I'm homeschool free!!! I've been going to college fulltime this year. It is alot of work with all the other things I do but hey ... gotta get that schooling done! One of my downfalls is always putting myself last. It's okay if it's with Don or the kids but I tend to put others before me. So I have been working on that this year. I have come to realize that I am taken advantage of ALOT so I have been working on putting me first. I think I have finally gotten the hang of this situation and feel pretty good about myself! I still struggle sometimes but overall am doing good. I quit taking my depression medicine and it has helped me get back to myself.
We did some traveling over the last year. We went to Myrtle Beach a few times and had lots of fun. We went to GA a couple times too. We also went to Julie's a couple times. The most recent trip to Julie's was Christmas where we got to be in the hospital when Owen was born. WOW that was so awesome!
Now I look back on my year as I was writing and think it seems like these things happened so long ago. I have some really great friends. My friend, Hilary, has helped me through most of my "battles" and I am so thankful for her. I have made other great friends that I am so thankful for and am not sure some of my issues could have been resolved without them there to help me through.
The kids and I have changed so much over the last year. They have grown up alot. Dani has had her first boyfriend now for 3 months! WOW 3 months is a long time! He is so cute and they are so sweet together. awwwww Dakotah, of course, is Dakotah. When Don left Dani was just a little girl and now is a teenager. Dakotah was a little thug wanna be and now has changed into a great "little adult." I must say that I have to thank my friend, Hilary, for Dakotah's growing up. He fought me so much on going out to the barn and now he is the kid he is because of the people out there. THANKS GUYS!!! You know I wonder how Julie and I ever survived without a cell phone as teenagers because my kids take theirs with them EVERYWHERE. When I say everywhere I mean even to the bathroom. Ok, can't say much there because while Don has been deployed my cell phone is with me at all times.
When I started writing this I didn't realize I had so much to say! ha I have often reflected over the last year and wondered how it would have been different if Don was home. I wonder if the kids would have grown up into the awesome kids they are today if they didn't have to face some of the struggles they have had to go through. I do know that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. I think I have 2 awesome kids and can't wait to add an awesome husband back into the mix.
Later guys!!!
