Dakotah's getting promoted!

Yes, I am a very proud Mommy!

Dakotah is getting promoted next month!!!!

I am so proud of him and so excited. He just got his dress blues the other day, so we have to take them and get them hemmed and ready. I can't believe it and I'm so excited. I will definitely get some pictures posted of him in his uniform once we get it fixed up.

My little soldier!!! So proud!

Week is finally over

Well, my time in the daycare center is over. I helped out this last week in a daycare center so others could take the licensing course I took in May. It was a very long week. I am glad it's over and ready for my own home to open up. I am still waiting on the people to come and do my last 2 inspections. I'm going to start bothering them and hopefully that will get them moving.

We are doing good. Busy but good. The kids enjoyed a wonderful 3 days with Lamar and Tiarra. Tomorrow Kindel and her 4 kids are coming here and we are doing Dani an early birthday party. Then next week it's back to normal... karate and wrestling, wrestling and karate!

I have taken up racquetball. Man it is so hard but fun!

Don is in charge of his platoon for another couple weeks and he is past ready for that to be over. He is working long hours. I can't wait for it to be over and him be back to his job, whatever it is for the week! He seems to bounce around from one job to another. I guess that means he's good at what he does!

Well, I woke up at 3am so I think I'm going to take a nap. Have a great day guys!

Time to get back to work!

Well, we took a mini vacation from being busy Friday and yesterday but today we are back at it again! We went to church and then to a potluck with everyone from church and now we are home.

I have to get so much ready for tomorrow. I turn in all my papers for my daycare tomorrow so that I can get my license. I'm giddy and excited, can't wait to be opened!!! I have someone doing a Pampered Chef party that I need to get some things to tomorrow and I also have someone interested in doing a fundraiser that I need to get information together and delivered tomorrow. Then the kids both have doctors appointments tomorrow and all 3 of us have eye doctor appointments, then the kids and Don have karate. Don is getting tested for his yellow belt! So exciting! I will post some pictures on here soon, I promise. I just haven't had time.

Dani had a pretty bad bicycle accident yesterday afternoon. She got a black eye, busted lip, bloody nose, roadrash on her arm, scrapped up side and knee, and a small concussion. We watched her all evening and made sure she was ok. I didn't take her to the ER, even though she was pretty beat up, because they have a doctor appointment tomorrow and they would just send her home saying she has a concussion and is beat up pretty bad. Pretty bad when she's had so many ER visits for beating up herself accidentally that we know what they'll say! :P

Have a good Sunday afternoon!!!

Lauged so hard!

Will Rogers
Enjoy the following:

1. Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco.

2. Never kick a cow chip on a hot day.

3. There are 2 theories to arguing with a woman neither works.

4. Never miss a good chance to shut up.

5. Always drink upstream from the herd.

6. If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.

7. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it and put it back in your pocket.

8. There are three kinds of men:

The ones that learn by reading.
The few who learn by observation.
The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.

9. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

10. If you're riding' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there.

11. Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier'n puttin' it back in.

12. After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him. The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.

ABOUT GROWING OLDER...

First ~ Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

Second ~ The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Third ~ Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way.
I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Fourth ~ When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of Algebra.

Fifth ~ You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

Sixth ~ I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top.

Seventh ~ One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young.

Eighth ~ One must wait until evening to see how splendid the day has been.

Ninth ~ Being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

Tenth ~ Long ago when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft. Today it's called golf

And finally ~ If you don't learn to laugh at trouble, you won't have anything to laugh at when you are old.

Relaxation time!

Well, I've had my first 3 inspections so I can open my daycare. I passed all 3! YEAH -- I have the food lady left but she was gone all week so I'm hoping to catch her next week. I also finished my summer semester of school.. which just so happened to be the same week as my inspections. Everything was due and finished yesterday, as well as, two of my inspections so I'm blah today! I was so tired I went to bed at 7pm last night and slept til 7am this morning. I am catching up on my sewing pile and some tv time today. Nothing at all planned outside of my house and no computer work! Have a good Friday everyone!

Crunch time

Well, my inspection is supposed to be on Tuesday so tomorrow is crunch time. Not only do I need to go through and make sure we have it all done AGAIN... I know it's done but I stress about passing. I also have finals due by Tuesday in my culinary course and my website is due by Thursday. I'm so stressed about getting a good grade on my website. I think I was making it harder than it is because when I spoke with him the other day he was telling me that I already knew what to do... just do it! Classes start again in August. I am loving being back in school again. I wish that we had known that we were staying in GA for a year so that I wouldn't have wasted a year of no school. But it's ok because Don is leaving for a year and I'll be done when he gets back so it'll be good. I will have nothing else to do while he's gone so I'm keeping busy with school and kids!

Dakotah and I have decided that we need to kick some butt and get back to working out again. So tomorrow is a fresh start for us both! I kinda took the week off while the kids were gone and then last week didn't get much done except getting ready for inspection and finals so tomorrow is back to getting more weight off.

Oh, Dani won an iPod. It is so cool. She is part of FitFactor here on Pope AFB and because she was a high contributor and eating healthy and staying active she got her name picked. It is so neat and she was so excited. I will post a picture on here of her getting her award and iPod by the AF Wing Commander. Don helped her get it downloaded with all her Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus and Camp rock songs. She hasn't let it out of her site since she got it!

Finally a way to keep up....

Hi guys! I just thought about blogging as a way to keep up with our lives. I send out emails all the time and this way you can just check on here at your convience to check out what is going on in Lusterville nowadays! This is so great. I'm not sure how well I'll do at first but it's going to be my way of keeping up with everything going on around here.

Enjoy your stay!
