WOW it has been a while. Let's see ....
Dakotah's torn hamstring is now almost healed. He is doing a great job in school. I can't be more proud of this kid! He is playing the drums and is hoping to do marching band next year. That's exciting since his high school is #2 in the state of NC.
Dani is doing good. She is well just being Dani! She did great in her horse show last month. She really loves her horses!!! She had a small issue with her depression a couple weeks ago but I think we have it back under control. I can't believe how grown up she is becoming. Kinda sad but great at the same time! She is going to Myrtle Beach this weekend with the youth from church. They are leaving Friday and coming back Saturday so it will be a short but fun trip!
Don is good. He is ready for a vacation! Work takes alot out of him sometimes. The whole getting up at 430 and not coming home til 6 or 7 is kind of a killer on the body and mind. He has been playing games with his friends at our house on Saturdays. It is always so much fun to have his friends here ... they are hilarious and always have fun!
I'm good. My classes are keeping me busy. I'm hoping to start working sometime soon. I have the sub job but so far just haven't had the time. College, kids, life in general .... keeping me busy!
Jinx is good. He wasn't eating for a couple weeks but is back on track. They said he was bored with his food. So we added some canned food and he's gaining weight again. So thankful!
Dani and I took a trip to Indiana for a few days the beginning of this month. It was alot of fun seeing everyone. The fam also went to Myrtle Beach for one last time while the weather was good. It was fun but Don thought the water was too cold. Yea Dani and I were in the waves! :) Carolyn came last Thursday and stayed til today. It is always nice when family comes to visit. She is such a great mother-in-law.
Well I think that's it for Lusterville.

Just another ...
Wow it has been a while! Who to begin with???
Jinx - well he is doing good. He is 10 months old and 97 pounds! Ya know he thinks he is a lapdog but someone sure does need to inform my puppy that he is not!
Dakotah - He is good, hurt but good. He played in his first football game and got hurt during the 2nd quarter. He got stretched out during half-time then went right back in for 3rd quarter. He took one too many helmets to his leg and was out in the 4th. He took it easy for 4 days then went back to practice. Guess he once again took one too many helmets to the leg and now has a tore muscle. :( Not sure what all they are going to do about it yet. It has been 2 weeks and his next doctor's appointment is next week so we shall see. I know he will have physical therapy but not sure the extent of the damage yet. Poor kid! No more bull riding or riding horses for a while. He has decided to take up the drums again. He is taking band as one of his classes and then next year is going to be part of the marching band. His high school has the number 2 marching band in the state of NC. So he is excited. Pretty proud of this kid. His high school has gotten off to a pretty good start.
DaniKay - Well she is loving her horsetime as much as ever! She has a horse show the end of next month and is excited. She is still getting tossed around by horses. She was riding Raven the other day and got ran into the cattle rail. Nice big purple bruise on her knee. That kid would live at the barn if she could. She is also doing great in school. She has taken up playing the trumpet. Her cool parents bought her a purple trumpet and had her name engraved on it. Such a cool mom and dad she has! Don and I love our tree-loving hippie daughter! :b
Don - He is doing okay. Wishing they'd figure the upcoming deployment details out but doing good. He finally went to the doctor yesterday about his knee. He found out that he has the knee of a 50 year old and has several bone spurs. :( Knew something was going on but was too stubborn to get it checked out. He is on profile so running at his own pace and distance. The Army sure does take a toll on the body. He is hoping to get back into school soon. Found one online he might be able to do.
Me - I'm okay just trying to keep up with life. I am taking 7 classes this quarter. So much schoolwork, so little time. I am starting back to substitute teaching again soon. I can't wait! I'm excited but stressed about it at the same time, not so sure about when I'm going to find time to work. I have also been going to the YMCA ... love swimming laps! Between my college, my kids, my husband, my puppy, and the Y I just have NO time. But hey that's how I love my life ... busy and full of things that make me happy!
Not much else going on in Lusterville.

Life in Lusterville ....
Been a while ... Lots of things have happened.
Dani and I went on vacation. Dakotah stayed here at Fort Bragg with a friend down the street. He took care of Jinx while I was gone and did a pretty good job. Was so happy to see both of them when I got home. Dakotah ran off to Stephens the day I got home for a week! He is enjoying his summer vacation very much!
Vacation started off with 2 days in Georgia with Don. Fort Gordon still isn't one of my favorite places in the world but it's a great place when Don is there! We had a good 2 days then headed off to Alabama. WOW didn't expect the trouble we had. As Dani and I were traveling down the highway my car suddenly went from 70 mph to 30 mph. Oh man! The car would speed back up slowly then it would die. ugh! Dani and I almost got smashed between 2 semis at one time and a couple other times we almost got smashed between other cars. So scary! Well my sister was on the phone with me during one of those times and she called my dad. It just so happened we were right down the road from where my dad worked! So my dad got us into a shop where he knows someone and got my car looked at. Long story short .. new transmission was needed. ugh! Lots of thanks to my dad for his help! :)
Vacation at my little sister's house was great! Owen is so cute. The last time I got to hold him for a minute before he was whisked away to the NICU. So it was so much fun to play with him and bond with the little man. Sadie Kay is adorable, as always! Love that little girl so much! Always a great time when our vacation leads us to my sister's house! I love it there!!!
To end our vacation we went back to Fort Gordon and spent 3 days with Don. It was so much fun! Don bought a game called Zombie Fluxx and wow we had a great time playing it!!! Can't wait til he gets home and we can play again!
Let's see ... kids are good. They start school the 25th of this month. I have all their dental and doctor appointments scheduled for the next 2 weeks so that we will be ready when the time comes. ugh doctor appointments!
I think that's about all that is going on. I have decided to take up writing and drawing again. Don has tried to persuade me to do this before but I was always so busy ... now I'm ready to get on it again. I am excited! We shall see where this leads.
I guess that's all for now.

Lusterville ...
Let's see we are all still breathing! :)
Don is in Georgia and not really enjoying himself. We hate Gordon because there is really nothing to do there. He has 5 more weeks and then he will be home again! YAY!!!
Dakotah is still his teenage self. He spent the week with Stephen and is now home for the few days before we leave on vacation.
Dani is good. A little more electric but good. She went to the barn today and is tired but had a good time.
I am good. I have 3 more days of school then it's finals and on to my vacation. I am ready to not be studying. I am almost done with school. I think I have about 8 classes left after fall and I can graduate!!!
This is my last week having Mason. We sure are going to miss that kid! Today the girls and I taught him to "punch bug" lol It was so cute! He is talking up a storm now. Hard to believe he is almost 2 ... growing up fast!
I am trying to get a job as a substitute for the schools here. I'm not sure about my status yet because I had to send in a couple more things before they looked at my application. The paperwork for them is almost as bad as when Don signed up for the military! :/ I am hoping to get it. I will be taking 5 classes online for my college courses so working will be hard but I don't feel right not working. Yea I know .. I'm weird! :)
Jinx is good. He graduates from his first set of dog obedience courses this weekend. I'm excited for him. He's such a great puppy! :)
Well that's life in Lusterville lately! :)
